Ascensia Elite Test Strips

The Ascensia Elite system is a fine, quality product developed for glucose monitoring. It’s basically three parts: the meter, code strip, and test strip. It incorporates sensor technology with an electrode. A reaction chamber holds the drawn blood and displays a reading within a mere 30 seconds. No blood wiping, no fuss.

A great feature of the Ascensia Elite system is in the process it uses to monitor blood. You'll find that your doctor uses the same technique. The test-strips are calibrated to return information based on a plasma/serum equivalent glucose result. The reason doctors use this method is because of its extreme accuracy.

The system turns on when the test strip is inserted and then shuts off when the strip removed. There are no buttons to push, and no switches to turn on and off. The operating source is two, 33-volt lithium batteries, which supply around 1000 readings. When the batteries get low, a warning will display on the meter, allowing more readings to be made until you can get to the store for more batteries.

Included with the Ascensia Elite system are simple directions for the check strip. Insert the check strip firmly, ensuring that it reaches to the end, completely hiding the top of the strip. Store your check strip in the package when not in use, and never bend them. The check strip can also be used to delete the memory or to recall an earlier test from the memory.

The Ascencia Elite is a bit more complicated than some of the other glucose-monitoring products, but the results form learning how to properly use it are well worth the effort. Just remember that the strip and the meter must be calibrated, or coded, in order to function properly. This code should be reset for each new package of strips.
